MapSource Install

Extract the following ZIP files to access the application files to install the application on your Windows computer.

I also have used TOPO!(National Geographic) which I have had for many years. I do not use it as much anymore since Garmin's software is free and even easier to use.

Most often I use Base Camp and Mapsource with Google Earth, which is free from Google. Sometimes I can see in Google Earth the trail or way that looks best and create a path, which I can export as a KMZ file. I can read the KMZ file in Base Camp to work with it there. After anchoring the path to elevation in Base Camp I can export it as a GDB file to work on in Mapsource. The results are saved back to GDB and read in Base Camp to be printed in the format I like. It's a little cumbersome but free. I'm cheap!
